# Keep syncing and reconnect

**Keep the connection page open while you want new mentions collected.** You can minimise it, but your phone and Telegram can still pause or close it in the background.

Kyela starts its background support automatically. If your device requires a tap, the page offers **Start syncing**. You do not need to enable a separate tone option.

Background behaviour varies by device and Telegram version. A successful sign-in does not guarantee uninterrupted checks on every phone.

## “Sync has stopped”

This means no selected group has been checked for three minutes. It does not necessarily mean you have been signed out.

1. Tap **Restore sync** in the bot message.
2. Keep the connection page open and active.
3. Tap **Start syncing** if shown.

Your selected groups stay saved. A valid device sign-in is restored automatically; you normally do not need to enter your login details again.

The bot sends **Connected** after the first confirmed group check, or **Sync restored** after a recorded interruption. These messages confirm a check happened, not a guarantee that the phone will stay active indefinitely. Quiet hours or a Telegram outage can delay delivery.

## “Checks delayed”

Leave the page open. Kyela retries temporary connection problems automatically. Telegram may impose a wait when too many requests arrive; reopening repeatedly will not remove that wait.

## After time away

Kyela checks up to the previous 24 hours, subject to scan limits. Some older messages may remain unchecked. Catch-up cards keep their original posting times.

Receiving a queued bot message while the page is closed does not prove the device is collecting new posts.

## Pause or disconnect

**Pause** stops your feed while keeping your device signed in. Resume when you want more mentions. A deliberate pause does not trigger a disconnected warning.

**Disconnect this device**, under **Your connection**, signs out that connection and pauses the feed. Your selected groups remain saved. [More about account controls](/kyela-inbox-docs/privacy.md#how-to-end-access).

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://kyela-inbox.gitbook.io/kyela-inbox-docs/connection.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `build a script that syncs our docs to a CMS` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
