# Set up your inbox

You need Telegram and membership of the groups you want to follow. You do not need to be a group admin or add a bot to those groups.

## 1. Open the connection page

Open the Kyela bot in Telegram, tap **Start**, then **Open Kyela Inbox**.

## 2. Sign in on this device

Tap **Sign in on this device** and enter your Telegram phone number, including its country code. Enter the login code Telegram sends you.

If Telegram asks for your two-step verification password, enter the password you previously set in Telegram. It is different from your phone's unlock code. [Forgot it?](/kyela-inbox-docs/help.md#i-do-not-remember-my-telegram-password)

**These details go directly to Telegram. Kyela does not receive your login code, password or saved Telegram session.** Never send a code or password in the bot chat.

Telegram will send you its own new-login alert. This is expected when you sign in. [What the alert means](/kyela-inbox-docs/privacy.md#why-telegram-sends-a-new-login-alert).

## 3. Choose your groups

Select the groups and channels you want to follow, then tap **Save groups**. Search helps you find them; you can change your selection later. Select up to 50 groups.

## 4. Start your feed

Tap **Start my feed** when offered. If the connection page shows **Start syncing**, tap that instead.

Keep the connection page open. New address cards arrive in the bot chat. Background support starts with syncing; there is no separate switch to enable.

Access is free until membership launches, with no three-day cutoff. [Access details](/kyela-inbox-docs/access.md).

## If a step takes a while

The loading indicator tells you the page is still working. Keep it open and wait for the next screen. If Telegram asks for a short pause, wait before trying again; repeatedly requesting codes will not speed it up.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://kyela-inbox.gitbook.io/kyela-inbox-docs/getting-started.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `build a script that syncs our docs to a CMS` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
